I have grouped the two conditions together because they share similar characteristics such as muscle pain, sleep problems, brain fog etc.  Additionally our protocol for both is also the same.  You can read more about that on the NHS website at the link on the bottom of this page. Diagnosis is made based on these symptoms on the basis that other conditions have been ruled. I was diagnosed in 2009 as “maybe” having both conditions by two different doctors.

Symptoms of Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME

  • Pain in various parts of the body
  • extreme tiredeness
  • difficulty sleeping
  • headaches
  • (IBS) irritable bowel syndrome
  • fast or irregular heartbeats

Then there are other conditions which proliferate as a result of these conditions to include anxiety, stress, and so on. For many what has been mentioned may feel like an over-simplification of this, at times, extremely debilitating condition.  I apologise if this has been the case. I personally recall the times I lay in bed, trying not to move, in fear that the pain would begin. On many an occasion it was so powerful that I would end up in tears.

The good news is, that like me, you can resolve this. It does however, require effort and persistence.  At the very least I strongly believe that by utilising the methods I show you,  it will lead to a reduction in your symptoms.

How can Shaanti Wellness help me?

Due to the multi-faceted nature of these conditions, it requires a multi-modal approach. I tried many things initially but never in unison, and what works for one may not necessarily work for another. Therefore, we believe the best way is to look at it from all angles, and tailor a program suitable to your circumstances. We will look at your nutrition which is carried out by our in-house nutritionist, exercise levels (don’t worry this is not about becoming a triathelete), the way you think and behave (your cognition), how you accept powerful new suggestions (hypnotherapy), how you breathe (yes, believe it or not this is very important. It was the final piece of the puzzle for me overcoming this condition) and other skills such as autogenic training and progressive muscle relaxation. Our Yoga teacher is fully qualified and she relishes teaching and helping beginners, advanced and anything in between. I know because she taught me! Like I said, lets do everything we can to get you where you want to be.  My ultimate goal is to help you heal from this condition, and so as long as you too put the effort in, this is likely to be more attainable.

How long can I expect it to take?

We get asked this so many times regarding these conditions and the honest answer is, we don’t really know. Everyone is unique and a lot depends on how much effort you are willing to put in. One thing I will say is that when I finally resolved 99 % of my issues and I was pain free for the first time in 2 years, I wish I had only started earlier. The truth is that this type of condition, which feels like an invisible condition in many cases as there are no visible signs, can deeply affect your motivation. You do however have to just say, enough is enough. There are people out there who have carried this condition with them for years. I was nearly one of them. All I can say is that using our protocol you will start to see change within 4 weeks but realistically you will need to follow our guidelines for at least 3 months to see lasting change. This doesn’t mean that you will be seeing us constantly throughout that period and being billed for it. Initially there will be a higher frequency of sessions so that you can learn everything that is needed. In some cases you may be familiar with parts of our protocol, which is fantastic. Then you can use these practices to resolve these conditions and we will be on hand whenever you need us to provide further guidance.
