Phobias or fears of spiders, fear of flying, fear of panic attacks and even fear of buttons, yes, believe it or not, buttons are quite a common phobia. As a human race, we tend to keep these fears and phobias to ourselves until the inevitable occurs and then we eventually have to face our fear or phobia. Normal reasoning with a phobia doesn’t usually work-just saying “It’s only a spider” may be one person’s view but for those that are truly scared it is a horrible experience. How long can I expect it to take?


Phobias usually take a maximum of 3 sessions but this depends on the individual and the phobia or fear.  Take for example the fear of flying which on average takes 3 sessions whereas fear of needles is usually 5 sessions, but again it is highly dependent upon the individual.  We very often find clients experience positive changes in other areas of their lives due to use of the two most powerful psychological therapies combined, namely hypnotherapy and and cognitive behavioural therapy.
